What is the Google Dance
I’ve been studying search engines off and on for the past several years now and every now and then someone asks what the Google Dance is all about.
Basically it’s Google’s way of updating its’ data. Why all the fuss about the “Google Dance”? Well back in the day, when Google performed an index update the search results would be affected which would freak out some site owners especially those making money for a specific search term. These site owners found themselves bumped from the first page or lower.
However, with good SEO (Search Engine Optimization) practices – it helped get them back up to the front of the pack. The “Google Dance” or index update was conducted about every month but due to advances I believe updates are now being conducted everyday with only a percentage of the data being updated at one time – so people will rarely even notice changes in the search result.
For the most part, Google wants to ensure that they’re always providing the most pertinent search results possible. That’s why they’re the number one search engine in use today.
Happy Googling!
